SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Exam 2016: An open-competitive examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for the recruitment of candidates for filling up vacancies of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’(Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted) posts. The exam is held annually at the all India Level. Candidates all over the country are invited to apply for the post. Selection of the candidates will be made based on the performance of the candidates in the written examination as well as the Skill test. The SSC Stenographer 2016 official notification has been released on 07 May 2016 and the application process has also commenced the same date. Applications will be accepted via online mode only up to 03 June. The written examination will be conducted on 31 July 2016.

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2016
Before filling the application form, aspirants are advised to first go through the minimum eligibility requirements such as the educational qualification, age-limit, reservation criteria etc. Following are the eligibility conditions which a candidate is required to satisfy in order to apply and sit in the exam –
- First of all, it is essential that you must have passed 12th class or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized education board to be eligible to apply
- Minimum-Maximum age limit is 18-27 years as on 1 August 2016. Hence, it is essential that your age must lie in the above age brackets
- Reservation: The benefits of reservation shall be rendered to those who shall produce the proper certificates and documents regarding the same.
All the eligible candidates have to apply online. The application form was released on 07 May 2016. Applicants must fill all the details carefully and make the payment of the requisite application fee.
Details regarding application fee:
- For General Category candidates: Rs.100/-
- NO FEE is to be paid by SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen and women candidates.
Admit card is issued by the Commission to all the registered candidates. The e-admit card shall be made available for download in the mid of June 2016. Examinees will have to bring the print out of their e-admit card while appearing for the exam otherwise they will not be permitted to sit in the exam. It must be noted that call letters shall not be dispatched to the candidates to their communication address. The call letter will bear the following details – name, roll number, venue details etc.
SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2016
All the aspirants must be aware of the pattern of the examination beforehand in order to succeed in it. The exam will be held offline and it will be objective in nature. The format of the question will be multiple choice questions only. The question paper will be divided into following sections –
- General Intelligence and Reasoning – 50 marks
- General Awareness – 50 marks
- English Language – 100 marks
Point to Note: The Question paper for the part I as well as II will be available both in English and Hindi and the part-III will be available in Hindi only.
SSC Stenographer Selection Procedure 2016
Basically, there are two rounds on the basis of which the candidates will be selected. First is written examination and second is Skill test. Candidates have to do well in the both these rounds for selection. As per the selection procedure, Allocation of candidates will be made to the different departments depending upon their merit in the list and the options exercised by them.
SSC Stenographer Cut off 2016
The short-listing of the candidates is done by implementing the criteria of the cutoff marks. The Commission decides the minimum score which the candidates need to attain to qualify the written examination so that they can appear in the further rounds. The cutoff i.e. the minimum score is calculated by keeping in consideration a variety of factors which are mentioned as follows- no. of the vacancies, no. of candidates and the level of difficulty of the exam.
SSC Stenographer Result 2016
The results for the SSC Stenographer written exam will be announced tentatively in October. Candidates will be able to check their result cum score through the official portal of the Staff Selection Commission. However, we will be hosting direct link on our website for the convenience of the candidates. The result pdf shall enlist the names of all those candidates who would qualify the exam and be shortlisted for the subsequent rounds of selection.
