NEET 2016NEET 2016: On 26 May 2016, the application form for NEET 2016 Phase II examination has been released by the CBSE board. The Board on 25 June has also announced the one-time correction window for candidates who wants to correct the mistakes made by them while filling the application form. The online correction will start from 27 June and will end on 29 June 2016. The candidates can access the online correction login from the link given below. Ever since the NEET examination has been initiated, it has been constantly criticised. Recently, the Union Cabinet has once again passed an ordinance to cancel out the Supreme Court order on making the NEET examination mandatory. NEET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Phase 2 examination are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before filling the Application Form:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen or Overseas Citizens of India(OCI).
  • The Candidate must have completed 17 years at the time of admission.
  • Candidates who are seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats except in the State of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana has an upper age limit of 25 years. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, the upper age limit is increased by 5 years.
  • The candidates must have secured a minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.  For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, the minimum marks required is 40%.
  • Candidates who are from  Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J &K  will not be able to apply under  15% All India Quota seats as the given states have opted out of the All India Scheme.

NEET 2016 Application Form

The NEET 2016 Application Form for the Phase 2 examination is available from 26 May 2016. Candidates can fill the application form online on the official website.  Candidates are advised to read the instructions for filling the application form.  Candidates are also required to pay the requisite application fee through any of the following methods i.e e-challan, Debit/Credit card, Net Banking and e-wallet of Common Service Centre (CSC). General/OBC  candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 1400/- and for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category, the payable amount is Rs. 750/-

NEET 2016 Admit Card

The CBSE will upload the NEET 2016 Admit Card on its official website on 8 July 2016.  Candidates will have to download the admit card for Phase 2 examination from the website and follow the instructions for affixing a Postcard size photograph. The board will not send any admit card via post.  The candidates admit card will consist of Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name, Category, Sub- category, Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, Language of Question Paper with Name and Address of examination centre allotted.

NEET 2016 Exam Pattern

The Phase 2 NEET 2016 examination is a paper-pen based examination. For NEET 2016 Exam Pattern, the test will consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The examination will be held for a duration of 3 hours from 10 am to 1 pm. Candidates will get four options per question and will have to tick the single correct answers.

NEET 2016 Exam Centres

The board will be allocating the NEET 2016 Exam Centres to the candidates via computer.  Candidates will have to select 3 cities as per their convenience for the entrance test.  The  board also reserved the right to allocate a test centre other than the candidates preferred seat choice.

NEET Phase 1 exam was held on 01 May 2016.  For candidates who have appeared in the Phase 1 exam, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), will release the official answer key in the month of August. For candidates to evaluate their marks in the entrance test.However,  various coaching institutes like Aakash, Bansal, Career Point, etc have already  released their answer keys for NEET 2016 Phase 1 exam. You can cross check your answers from the given table below. The solutions are of all sets  (A/P/W, B/Q/X, C/R/Y and D/S/Z) of the question booklet as received by the candidates.

NEET 2016 Marking Scheme 

Given below is the procedure to calculate your NEET 2016 marks-

  1. There is a +4 score for each correct answer.
  2. Every wrong answer carries -1 score.
  3. Each Candidate’s total NEET 2016 score will be out of 720. The formula for calculating is (Number of correct answer x 4 –  number of incorrect response x 1)
Passing/Qualifying Marks for NEET 2016 

Every candidate who has appeared in the NEET 2016 should have to secure the minimum qualifying score to proceed further with admissions. For General Candidates, the minimum qualifying score in NEET 2016 is 50%  and for OBC is 40%.

NEET 2016 Result

CBSE will announce the result for NEET Phase 1 and Phase 2 examination on August 17, 2016 (Tentatively).  The result will consist the name of the candidates who have secured more or equal to the minimum qualifying marks in entrance exam.

NEET 2016 Counselling

The Counselling for the Phase 2 examination under 15% All India Quota will be conducted by MCC of Directorate General of Health Services. The counselling will be done in online mode.  Candidates will be called for counselling as per the Merit List. For any query, candidates can contact at the given below address:
