IBPS Clerk 2016: IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam is scheduled to be held on 26 & 27 November, 03 & 04 December 2016 and the Main Exam is scheduled to be held on 31 December & 01 January 2017. It must be noted that the selection of candidates is to be done on the basis of their performance in the online examination only. Interviews have been removed from the process of selection. The official notification is scheduled to be released soon in this month. Candidates will be required to submit their applications via online mode.
Scrapping of Interview Procedure
In the latest development, IBPS has scrapped interview procedure for Clerk level exam, so there will be no interview procedure and merit will be made on the basis of marks scored in IBPS Clerk Main exam.
As per the IBPS calendar, the preliminary exam will take place in the month of November and December while Main exam is on 31 December 2016 and 1 January 2017.

Participating Banks in the IBPS Clerk Recruitment
Nationalized banks namely Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, Vijaya Bank are participating in this examination.
A graduation degree from a recognized university is the minimum educational requirement for IBPS Clerk 2016. Age limit is 20 to 28 years. A relaxation of 05 years for SC/ST candidates and 03 years for OBC candidates is permissible.
- A link will be activated for the application form, aspiring candidates can apply for IBPS Clerk exam online by visiting the link and entering their details. A candidate has to mention details like address, educational and personal details. One has to give preference to participating banks in descending order.
- Also, a candidate has to select a state from which he wants to apply for IBPS Clerk 2016 exam, all the subsequent result will be based on that selected state only. After selecting the state from where you want to apply one has to select the state and city from which one wants to attempt IBPS Clerk Online Preliminary exam. It’s to be noted that state from where someone wants to apply and state from someone wants to give written online exam can be different. After filling these details one has to scan and upload photograph and signature copy, this will complete step 1 of the application part.
Examination Fee: IBPS examination fee is Rs 600 ( Rs 100 in the case of SC/ST/PWD candidates) which can be submitted via online like Credit card/debit card/net banking/pay pal etc. A candidate who wants to pay offline can take the printout copy of challan and submit it in any nationalized bank branch with examination fee. Bank people will give a challan number which one has to fill in order to confirm the deposition of examination fee.
IBPS Clerk 2016 exam will be conducted in two stages which are Preliminary and Main one. The candidate has to qualify in preliminary examination in order to give the Main exam. A preliminary exam will be qualifying one. There will be 100 questions from 3 subjects which are Reasoning Ability 35 questions, Quantitative aptitude 35 questions, and English Paper 30 questions. Each question will carry 1 marks and there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. Duration of Preliminary exam will be 1 hour.
The syllabus is comprised of all the topics which forms the part of the question paper. IBPS issues the syllabus keeping in consideration the exam pattern. Therefore, all the candidates must prepare as per the syllabus prescribed for the exam.
A cutoff is the minimum marks required to qualify the exam. IBPS Clerk paper has a sectional cutoff and total cutoff. A candidate has to score equivalent and more than cutoff marks and additionally have to qualify in total marks in order to clear IBPS Clerk exam. There is both sectional and total cutoff in both preliminary and Main exam. Preliminary Clerk IBPS exam is of qualifying nature. Cutoff will vary as per the categories and state.
IBPS Clerk 2016 Main Exam: 20 November 2016
Only those candidates who have qualified for the Preliminary exam can give this exam. A separate admit card will be issued for the Main exam however candidate does not have to apply again. There will be 200 objective based questions. It will have 05 sections namely Reasoning, English Language Test, Numerical Test-ability, General awareness test and Computer knowledge test. Each section will carry 40 questions of 1 marks each making it a total of 200 marks question paper. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for the wrong attempt.
